About Seralynn

Romance Author

Getting married at eighteen was way too young to know what marriage was all about.  After ten years, two children, and a thousand romance novels, it was time to sever the relationship.  It wasn’t an easy decision or transition because the kids were small.  I dedicated myself to raising my two beautiful daughters. Not being a very good judge of character, I felt I had more growing to do.

I put myself through school, but could not find a job. My brother’s wife mentioned there were women who met to pray and would I be interested? I thought, “Why not?”  It couldn’t hurt and it might help. That meeting changed my life forever.

When the woman asked me, “Where will you spend eternity?” I didn’t have an answer, and I needed one. That’s when my life changed.

In those days, romances were mostly sweet romances, but they got increasingly graphic. I stopped reading them because I thought they were a hindrance to my walk with Jesus and learning His word.

Fast forward almost nineteen years later, after many years of prayer, I met my husband. He is my biggest cheerleader and holds my heart in the palm of his hand. Together we know that without Jesus in our lives we cannot do anything.  He is the glue that keeps us strong.

My daughters are adults and there are grandchildren, but they live a plane ride away. I transitioned from working full-time to working part-time but we had moved seven times over the last ten years because of my husband’s work.  There are many adventures and what I call “God stories” along the way.  You’ll find our adventures on the blog page and some God stories in the weekly verses found on the page as well. Moving was stressful but when we finally settled in our last home, I had more time on my hands. I thought I’d read a romance. What I found was there were now wonderful sweet, inspirational romances that hadn’t existed when I had last read a romance.

Considering those new romances, and the many scenes I had floating around in my head, there was a yearning in my heart to share the truths I learned in my life’s journey through romance. And that’s where I am today.  Writing sweet, inspirational romances.
